Thank you for choosing to be part of our community at Highnote (hereinafter “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Notice (“Notice”) applies to the website www.highnotehealth.com (the “Site”) and related proprietary software application (the “App”) created, owned and operated by the Company. The Site and App provide an easy-to-use cloud-based platform for connecting healthcare professionals in order to unlock otherwise siloed knowledge to drive better health outcomes. With the Site and App, Highnote is transforming how healthcare professionals seek help from colleagues for specialty expertise and new knowledge.

Access and use of the Site and App, along with accompanying features such as our knowledge-sharing database and mechanism for uploading information and images (collectively referred to herein as “Services”) is subject to acceptance of, and compliance with, this Notice and the Company’s Terms of Service.

Your privacy is very important to us. As a result, we want you to know about the information we may collect from you when you visit the Site and/or App or use the Services and how the information is used. By visiting the Site or App or using our Services or by providing your personal information to us, you agree to the terms of this Notice. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Personal information you disclose to us

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register to use the Site or App, or signup to use our Services or to use your organization’s subscription to the Site or App or otherwise to contact us. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Site and/or App, the programs in which you participate and the services you use. Therefore, the personal information we collect may include, but not limited to:

Information submitted by you through a generic signup form on the Site and/or App to use our Services, also referred to as system access information. This may include:

  • Telephone Number
  • Email Address
  • Password
  • Title
  • Field(s) of Specialization or Specialty
  • Employer
  • Areas of Interest or Expertise
  • Country of Residence
  • Geographic Area

Depending on your user type and access, information voluntarily submitted by you as a user through the Site and/or App such as:

  • your responses to questions about medical situations or cases;
  • general information you offer for inclusion in our knowledge-sharing database for use as reference in the future; and
  • your opinions on prevailing medical events or cases.

Optional information you provide in connection with the use of Services such as:

  • user profile information you add to the profile field such as your name, state and country of residence, your specialization, schools or institution attended, and years of experience;
  • biographical information and profile picture;
  • information you enter for verification of your status as a healthcare provider.

By continuing, you hereby acknowledge that all personal information that you provide to us is true, complete and accurate, and you agree to notify us of any changes to such personal information.

Information automatically collected

Like many businesses, we automatically collect certain information through cookies and similar technologies when you visit, use or navigate the Site and/or App. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your:

  1. IP address
  2. Browser and device characteristics
  3. Operating system
  4. Language preferences
  5. Referring URLs
  6. Device name
  7. Country and location
  8. Information about how and when you use our Site and/or App

We may obtain information about you from other sources, such as public databases, joint marketing partners, social media platforms (such as Facebook and Instagram), as well as from other third parties. Examples of the information we receive from other sources include, but not limited to, social media profile information (your name, gender, email, city, state and country, profile picture URL and any other information that you choose to make public).

By using the Site and/or App, you consent to our collection, use, and sharing of your personal information as described in this Notice. Please do not use the Site or App if you do not consent to our collection, use, and sharing of your personal information as described in this Notice. WE DO NOT SELL YOUR PERSONAL DATA.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the personal information collected via the Site and/or App for a variety of business purposes depending on your user type as described below. Accordingly, we use the information we collect or receive:

  1. To facilitate account creation and logon process, or simply to set up an account for you manually. Also, if you choose to link your account with us to a third-party account (such as your Google or Facebook account), we use the information you allow us through such link to facilitate account creation and logon process.
  2. As part of the Services**,** to enable you to participate in our knowledge-sharing forum, and to send you marketing and promotional communications.
  3. To send administrative information about our programs and services for which you expressed interest, to compile questionnaire information in conjunction with your subscription and use of the Services, and to send you feature information and/or information about changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.
  4. For our business purposes, we may use your information to develop and display content and advertising (and work with third-parties who do so) tailored to your interests and/or location and to measure its effectiveness.
  5. To develop analytics and insights as part of our Services offering, and to enable user-to-user communications on the Website.
  6. As part of our efforts to keep the Site and App safe and secure (for example, for fraud monitoring and prevention), and to enforce our terms, conditions and policies, relying on our business purposes and/or legal reasons
  7. To respond to a subpoena or other legal request.
SHARING AND DISCLOSING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We only share and disclose your information in the following situations:

  1. Compliance with Laws.   2. Vital Interests and Legal Rights.   3. Vendors, Consultants and Other Third-Party Service Providers. We may share your personal information with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors or agents who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. Examples include, but are not limited to, payment processing, data analysis, email delivery, hosting services, customer service and marketing efforts. If you interact with other users of the Site or App and register through a social network (such as Facebook), your contacts on the social network will see your name, profile photo, and descriptions of your activity.
OUR USE OF COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of any third-parties, including other websites, services or applications that may be linked to or from the Site or App. You should review the policies of such third-parties and contact them directly to respond to your questions.

HOW WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. For example, all information transfer is encrypted in transit using SSL and data is encrypted at rest in our database using the AES-256 encryption algorithm. Nevertheless, please remember that we cannot guarantee that the internet itself is 100% secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information in our possession, transmission of personal information to and from the Site and/or App is at your own risk. You should only access the Site or App, and the Services, within a secure environment.

DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Site or App, you represent that you are at least 18. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records.
